Job Description: Broadwind Heavy Fabrications specializes in the production of wind turbine towers and large scale complex weldments and fabrications for oil and gas, mining, and other industrial applications. We are looking for someone to leverage Broadwind’s unique capabilities (welding, fabrication and assembly) of clean fuel equipment to establish and profitably grow new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager must achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration by effectively selling the company’s core strengths and capabilities. This remote position will work from home in the South, Midwest, or Northeast region of the US, along with required travel up to 50% of the time, including visits to our Broadwind Heavy Fabrication locations on a quarterly basis (Abilene, TX or Manitowoc, WI). RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (May include some or all of the following responsibilities) Manage the Sales and Business Development process/pipeline to achieve sales targets by: Contacting and securing new business accounts/customers via telephone calls and in-person visits and personal presentations to perspective customers. Researching sources for developing perspective customers and for information to determine their potential. Gathering and analyzing market intelligence for new opportunities. Creating and managing a value plan for perspective customer opportunities. Developing clear and effective written proposals/quotations for prospective customers. Plan and organize personal sales strategy to maximize the return on time investment for the territory. Supply leader and others with verbal and written reports on customer needs, problems, competitive environment, and potential new opportunities. Coordinate sales efforts with engineering, estimating, project management, manufacturing and accounting. Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints. Maintain sales development budget. Participate in trade shows. Performs additional requests as required. QUALIFICATIONS Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or business discipline; Associate degree with the applicable experience may be considered. 5 yrs. minimum experience in business development, sales or marketing in a combination of the following industries – CNG, oil and gas, virtual pipeline, RNG, hydrogen, heavy fabrications and infrastructure. Established connections/status/background in the industries listed required. Proven success as a sales hunter and with the demonstrated ability to close the deal. Experience in the distribution and sale of branded products direct to customer and/or industrial distribution channels or to large OEM accounts. Travel at least 50% of the time; must visit BHF locations on a quarterly basis (Abilene, TX or Manitowoc, WI). Must possess valid driver’s license and proof of insurance Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability: Results-orientated Able to work both independently and accepts full accountability for results Has strong business savvy and able to demonstrate solid judgement in complex situations. Understands the complete sales cycle related to the industries listed Must have the proven ability to work in a metric driven sales environment. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficient, able to use Microsoft Office Suite, quotation spreadsheets and sales management software (i.e. Salesforce). Must be able to leverage technology to support goals
