Job Description: Company Overview Ambient Fuels is building a greener future by tackling the toughest decarbonization challenges with custom-engineered green hydrogen solutions. As a pure play hydrogen developer we focus exclusively on electrolyzers and hydrogen production to satisfy our customers demand to decarbonize. We develop electrolytic hydrogen production plants custom designed for the bespoke needs of our customers, and our business plan is to build, own, and operate a fleet of these projects. At Ambient Fuels we blend development and technical expertise with our renewable energy and industrial process experience to oversee every step of execution—from project development and design to financing and construction. We believe that taking an agnostic approach to technology selection and renewable energy sourcing can help improve efficiency and lower costs, ensuring that your solution design is driven entirely by your needs, and not by a bias to any one technology or resource pipeline. Role Overview Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will create an origination strategy, build the origination function, and lead origination efforts to build a pipeline of customer offtake driving toward the company’s goal of 300 MW/~150 TPD in operation or construction by 2026 and a total pipeline of over 5GW/~2,500 TPD. This person will lead all customer-facing activities and lead both our internal team as well as partner service providers and in furtherance of these goals. Key Responsibilities Creation of an origination strategy that maximizes the successful customer capture in our business including target sectors, product offering, and lead generation channels. Execution of origination strategy leading to long-term offtake and/or multisite relationships which will support growing green hydrogen business requirements. Generate new green hydrogen offtake opportunities to build an offtake pipeline to meet the company’s stated 2026 goals. Full cycle business development including excellent ability to advance customer contacts through marketing, initial customer contact, indicative and firm proposals, and supporting the final contracting process. Relentlessly drive opportunities to closed deals with both internal and external focus and attention. Maintain a high level of engagement and visibility with our customers and the market generally, promoting the company as the supplier of choice. Monitor the market and adapt our strategies, product offerings, or terms and conditions as required to be competitive. Lead our internal processes for proposal generation, opportunity tracking, etc. and report to management on progress. Build a capable origination function including personnel, systems, materials, external partners, and processes. Qualifications Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to create innovative business structures solving new market issues. Is a listener; excellent ability to understand and translate specific customer requirements into market first products creating first of kind solutions within green hydrogen production. Process oriented individual who values data driven processes to generate favorable results and to drive internal improvement. Proven track record of originating, negotiating, and closing gas supply and/or energy deals that led to successful projects Exposure to heavy industry (refining, ammonia, chemicals, industrial gases, etc.) and sales of industrial gases or other industrial energy products a plus Proven ability to build, lead, and manage cross-functional teams Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
