Job Description: Director, Utility Scale Development, West Location(s): San Francisco, CA, US, n/a San Diego, CA, US, 92101 RWE Clean Energy, LLC , San Diego, San Francisco Functional area: Project Development Remuneration: Exempt The Director of Utility-Scale Development at RWE Clean Energy is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects in the US and Canada. The Director will play a key role in delivering renewable energy projects in alignment with RWECE's strategy in North America. Responsibilities: Serve as regional lead for project origination and development, including overseeing negotiation of site control agreements, managing site surveys and due diligence, securing land use and environmental approvals, and advancing projects through the interconnection process, and assisting with energy marketing Oversee and manage regional solar development budget and schedules, along with regional project KPIs Help manage the internal financial approval process for assigned development projects in alignment with company strategy and goals Coordinate with internal teams on new market evaluation, interconnection, environmental and permitting, and power marketing for assigned regions Interface with and coordinate inputs from subject matter experts, including engineering, legal, procurement, and construction personnel, as needed to ensure effective execution of regional renewable projects Manage a team of 3-5 Senior Development Managers and Development Managers, including prioritizing workload, providing project development guidance and setting individual performance targets Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of experience in North America's Utility-Scale solar, wind and/or battery storage development Bachelor's degree in STEM, business/economics, or relevant fields Experience in the full project development life-cycle, including market analysis, origination/greenfielding, permitting, late-stage development, and project financing and equity transactions Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to develop and assess risks to project pipeline Ability to manage less experienced team members and complete assigned tasks on schedule Proven analytical skills and presentation skills Ability to travel up to 50% Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California is $145,000 - $217,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
