Job Requirements:
Weatherford has a opening in Houston, TX for a Environmental / ESG Data Analyst with experience in Environmental and business intelligence (BI) developer to create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn environmental, social & governance data into knowledge. This position will support the Corporate Sustainability team in prioritizing reporting needs and data capture, creating and managing master data sets, and building out/automating repeatable reports primarily focused on Sustainability/ESG reporting and disclosures both internally and externally.

  • Develop and execute strategies for the simplification, systematization, and standardization of current environmental/ESG data collection methods.
  • Ensure sustainability data and supporting data systems are accurate and timely in their provision of data to the company and auditable to support the changing requirements.
  • Efficiently handle large sets of data and be able to confidently process them into required formats.
  • Craft and execute queries upon request for utility and carbon-footprint related operational data.
  • Provide information through reports and visualization as needed.
  • Design, build and deploy Business Intelligence (BI) solutions (i.e., reporting tools) for tracking and reporting of Natural Resources Consumption, Waste Generation, and Carbon Footprint at different levels (customer, corporate, product line, Geozone, etc.)
  • Develop and/or improve ESG KPI Dashboards that reflects Weatherford’s material ESG topics set by ESG function leaders.
  • Consolidate and report key Environmental/ESG statistics quarterly and annually as required.
  • Maintain and support internal and – if applicable - external data analytics platforms.
  • Act as a key point of contact and support internal/external Assurance and/or data validation projects on ESG data.
  • Support Product lines and Geozones throughout the Greenhouse Gas emission (GHG) assessment process on GHG inventory, data collection strategies. (Product emissions LCA)
  • Enable business process for data collection related to customer reports and disclosures of ESG / Sustainability information.
  • Monitor trends and benchmark best-in-class reporting and data analytic practices. Recommend enhancements to Weatherford’s data collection and reporting methods.
  • Support the company’s annual Sustainability reporting process, working with Sustainability team members to collect data, write performance narratives in alignment with applicable disclosure frameworks
Experience:
REQUIRED
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
  • 3+ years’ experience in Power BI
  • Experience ensuring accuracy of existing data and queries and cleaning historical data
  • 4+ years proven working experience as a Data Analyst or in Business Data Analyst projects
  • Proficiency with analyzing Data or Information — Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of Power BI and databases (SQL and non-SQL)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and brief leadership.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Strong influencing, collaboration, oral and written communications skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

PREFFERED:

  • Proven track record using ESG BI to assign improving prior employer EGS ratings
  • In depth knowledge of various ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, SBTi) and disclosures (e.g., CDP, Ecovadis), and rating agency evaluations such as Sustainalytics, MSCI, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of current topics related to sustainability/ESG
  • Strong network of data analytic/BI professionals across the ESG disclosure and reporting space
  • Experience in developing and delivering relevant training courses and programs
  • Exposure to carbon footprint reduction projects and best practices for related data capture
  • Experience in producing data that meets external audit and internal control requirments
  • Familiarity with JDE and SAP, including ability to construct queries from same
  • Familiarity with HFM and Essbase, including ability to construct queries from same
  • Familiarity with Oracle BI/Navigator, including construction of Answers reports
  • Familiarity with HRMS, including ability to construct queries from same
  • Familiarity with Alteryx, Python or other related query languages/tools
  • Intermediate to advanced SharePoint (current versions), administration & customization knowledge
  • Second language (Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, or any other EU language)
